Cancer Terms to Know: Local Control
If you or a loved one is preparing to undergo cancer treatment and have been presented with various treatment options, one of the many medical terms you may have heard is “local control.”
Local control is defined as the stopping of cancer growth at the origin. Treatment outcomes may be described in terms of the rate of local tumor control following completion of treatment or how well the treatment managed to control the growth or spread of the tumor from its original site.
CyberKnife® has been shown to provide excellent local control rates for several types of primary and metastatic cancers. Click here for a list of studies.
