Louisville CyberKnife Medical Director’s Patient Care Philosophy

Dr. Shiao Woo, a board-certified radiation oncologist, serves as medical director of Louisville CyberKnife, as well as professor and chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.

An integral part of our center’s clinical team since Louisville CyberKnife opened in partnership with the James Graham Brown Cancer Center at the University of Louisville Hospital, Dr. Woo provides a wealth of expertise and works with a number of cancer specialists to develop personalized treatment plans for each patient.

Dr. Woo shares his patient care philosophy below.

“My philosophy of patient care is a combination of using the best knowledge and expertise with compassion, and occasionally a dose or two of humor. After all, laughter is very good medicine,” said Dr. Woo. “My personal hope is that we will be leaders in changing the cancer statistics in Kentucky.”
