Our Team Talks CyberKnife: Dr. Dragun
Dr. Anthony Dragun, a Louisville CyberKnife board-certified radiation oncologist, serves as an associate professor, vice chair and residency program director of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. As a physician at our center, Dr. Dragun works with a number of cancer specialists to develop a personalized treatment plan for each patient. Read below to find out why he recommends CyberKnife® treatment to his patients.
“CyberKnife treatment is probably the single best tool that I have as a radiation oncologist that goes beyond the standard treatments. It is the technology that allows me to treat things that were previously untreatable. It’s very exciting because I’m able to not only talk to patients and educate them about it, but I’m able to educate my colleagues about it. Other oncologists that are not in the radiation specialty may not know that the hope exists to treat tumors that typically in decades past have been difficult or impossible to treat, so I think it’s really important as a weapon against cancer and as a tool to treat more patients and cancer types.”
